CGI Fence Installation: The Long Beach Owner’s Guide
CGI fence installation in Long Beach typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full perimeter job, depending on linear footage, post spacing, and whether we’re pulling old fence or starting fresh. We stock CGI-compatible fence panels and hardware on our trucks, so most jobs get quoted and started within the same week. The way homeowners usually find us is simple: a panel cracked at the rail, a post leaning toward the neighbor’s yard, or a gate that now drags against the concrete after years of Long Beach sun and salt air doing their thing.
If you’re reading this, you probably already know the part that failed. What you need now is an honest price, a crew that shows up, and a fix that doesn’t send you back to the hardware store three times. That’s what this page is for.
Which CGI Models This Applies To

CGI (Coastal Glass Industries) makes aluminum and vinyl fence systems sold through regional distributors across Southern California. The two lines we see most in Long Beach are the CGI Aluminum Architectural Series (used heavily in Naples, Belmont Shore, and the Peninsula for pool enclosures and wind-rated privacy fences) and the CGI Vinyl Estate Series (common in Bixby Knolls and Los Altos for residential yards). Each series has its own rail profile, post wall thickness, and picket spacing, so a part from the Aluminum Series won’t drop into a Vinyl Estate post, ever.
How to identify what you have: look for a manufacturer sticker on the inside of a post cap or near the bottom rail. If it’s faded or gone, measure the picket width and the distance between pickets. Aluminum Series pickets usually run 5/8″ to 3/4″ wide with 3-1/2″ spacing; Vinyl Estate pickets sit closer to 1-1/2″ wide with tighter spacing. For the part that actually failed, do this: measure the post dimensions (2″ x 2″ versus 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ is the most common confusion), the rail channel depth, and the picket hole pattern. We match these three numbers against CGI’s current spec sheets.
On OEM versus aftermarket: for structural pieces like posts, gate frames, and rail channels, we order OEM CGI parts whenever the distributor has them in stock. For caps, brackets, and screws, quality aftermarket equivalents from the same gauge aluminum work fine and keep your cost down. We’ll tell you which parts matter and which ones don’t.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your CGI Fence Installation Is Failing
- Leaning post at the gate hinge. The gate’s weight pulls the post out of plumb over time, especially on Long Beach’s sandy, shifting soil. The fix is a deeper-set post or a reinforced concrete footing, not just tightening the hinge screws.
- Rail pulling out of the post pocket. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings. After enough Long Beach summers (and that August heat that bakes everything west of the 710), the rail seat wears loose and the rail slips. A new bracket or shimmed pocket usually solves it in under an hour.
- Pickets rattling or falling out. Salt air corrodes the small screws and clips that hold pickets in the rail channel. We replace them with marine-grade stainless hardware that doesn’t turn to rust flakes in two years.
- Gate dragging or sagging. The hinge post settles, or the gate frame itself flexes at the welds. It’s almost never the latch. When someone keeps tightening the latch to fix a sag, the frame just twists worse.
- White residue or pitting on aluminum posts. That’s galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metals, usually where a steel bracket touches an aluminum post without a nylon washer. Long Beach’s marine layer accelerates it. We isolate the metals and replace the corroded section.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full CGI fence installation in Long Beach sits between $3,500 and $9,000. For that range, here’s what moves the number: linear footage is the big one (most Long Beach lots run 80 to 180 feet of fence line), whether old fence removal is involved, how many gates you have, and whether posts need new concrete footings. A simple 40-foot run of straight vinyl privacy fence on flat ground starts near the bottom of that range. A 150-foot aluminum perimeter with two gates, old fence removal, and a few posts to re-set lands near the top.
Every quote from us is a written line-item price before any work starts: materials listed by name, labor broken out, disposal included if it applies. No change orders on the back end. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise, which simply means if something’s not done right within a year of the install, we come back and make it right. In writing, every time.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with CGI. But we install and repair their fence systems regularly, and we know their parts well enough to tell you what’s actually broken before we touch anything.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. If a picket popped out of its channel or a screw backed out of a bracket, that’s a five-minute fix you can handle with a drill and some stainless hardware from any Long Beach hardware store. If a post is leaning or the gate won’t close, that’s different. Aluminum tension is not like wood. A post under load from a swinging gate can kick back when you pull it, and setting new concrete in Long Beach’s sandy soil (the same soil that eats shallow post holes all over the east side) takes a deeper dig than most people want to do on a Saturday.
We’ve also had more than one homeowner on the phone with us after trying to straighten a bent aluminum rail with a pipe wrench and making it worse. If the post moves when you grab it, or the gate has dragged for more than a month, that’s the point where a call to (562) 512-6480 is the smarter move. You’ll get a real person, a written price, and a crew that fixes it right the first time.
FAQs

A properly installed CGI aluminum fence lasts 25 to 35 years in Long Beach’s climate; vinyl runs 15 to 25 before UV exposure makes it brittle. The failure point is almost never the panel, it’s the hardware: screws, brackets, and post anchors fail first due to salt air and temperature swings.
Yes, if the damage is limited to a rail connection, a few pickets, or a post cap, we repair the section for a few hundred dollars instead of replacing the whole run. If the post itself is cracked or the rail channel is deformed, replacement is cheaper than trying to patch aluminum that’s already compromised. Call (562) 512-6480 and we’ll tell you straight which one you’re dealing with.
Most residential jobs take one to two days on site, not counting the few days it takes us to pull OEM parts from the distributor if we don’t have them on the truck. Full fence replacements with old fence removal and new gate framing can run three days.
We stock the common stuff: posts, rails, pickets, brackets, marine-grade hardware, and gate kits for both the Aluminum Architectural and Vinyl Estate series. If your part is specific to an older CGI line that’s since been discontinued, we source it through the distributor network and tell you exactly when it’ll be here before you commit.
