Blanco Home Additions & ADU: The Long Beach Owner’s Guide

If you’re searching for Blanco home additions and ADU work in Long Beach, here’s the straight answer: we handle full home additions and ADU construction at Sawyer Remodel Long Beach, with typical projects running $45,000 to $130,000 for home additions and $90,000 to $220,000 for ADU construction. Most Long Beach homeowners discover they need us when their current space no longer works – aging parents moving in, a growing family, or the need for rental income. Blanco is a brand we know well from kitchen and bath work across the city, and when a Blanco product is part of the equation, we make sure the addition or ADU integrates with what’s already in your home, not against it.

Before you go deeper: Sawyer Remodel Long Beach is an independent general contractor. We’re not affiliated with Blanco, but we’ve installed and worked around Blanco fixtures and finishes in enough Long Beach homes to know what works and what fights you.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco makes a wide range of kitchen and bath products – sinks, faucets, and fixtures that often anchor a remodel or addition. When we build a home addition or ADU with Blanco components, the model matters. Blanco sinks come in silgranit composite, stainless steel, and ceramic, each with different undermount requirements and cutout specs. The faucet lines – from the pull-down Linus to the bar faucets – have different hole configurations and reach profiles. Here’s the gotcha most people miss: Blanco silgranit sinks require specific cutout templates, and if your countertop fabricator cuts before the sink arrives, you can end up with a gap or a lip that looks wrong. We always order the Blanco sink first, confirm the template, then cut. Another compatibility check: Blanco’s undermount sinks need either a reinforced cabinet base or specific support brackets for silgranit, which is heavier than stainless. We account for that in framing or cabinet selection, depending on the project.

For OEM versus aftermarket: with Blanco, stick with OEM parts and fixtures when the addition involves a sink or faucet that matches existing Blanco pieces. Silgranit color consistency across batches matters. Aftermarket drain assemblies and mounting hardware work fine, but the visible pieces should be Blanco if you’re matching an existing setup.

Signs Your Blanco Home Additions & ADU Is Failing

  • Water pooling around the sink rim or base. This usually means the undermount seal has failed or the countertop wasn’t cut to the correct Blanco template. Over time, water works into the cabinet and the cabinet starts to swell. We see this often in Long Beach homes where the original install was rushed.
  • Cracks or chips in a silgranit sink. Silgranit is tough, but a dropped cast iron pan can chip the edge. Once chipped, the sink holds food particles and looks dirty no matter how much you scrub. The chip also weakens the surrounding material.
  • Cabinet doors that don’t close or drawers that stick. This often traces back to a sink or faucet leak that’s been soaking the cabinet base. In Long Beach’s coastal humidity, swollen MDF and particleboard don’t recover. The fix is cabinet replacement, sometimes extending into a larger reface or remodel.
  • Faucet finish pitting or spotting. Hard water is a reality across Long Beach. Blanco finishes hold up well, but if the finish is failing early, it’s usually a water quality issue or harsh cleaner use. Once pitting starts, it doesn’t stop.
  • Blanco fixtures that don’t match the new addition. This isn’t a failure in the mechanical sense, but it’s a functional one. If you’re building an ADU and the Blanco pieces you’re moving over don’t match the new layout or cabinet depth, the whole space feels off. We plan for this during the design phase, not after.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

An open kitchen and dining area after a remodel

Home additions in Long Beach run $45,000 to $130,000, and ADU construction runs $90,000 to $220,000. Those ranges reflect the full scope, not just a Blanco fixture swap. If your project is a smaller kitchen remodel that includes Blanco work, that’s $14,000 to $45,000. A bathroom remodel with a Blanco vessel sink or faucet upgrade runs $9,000 to $28,000.

What drives the higher end of those ranges? Permit fees, foundation work, utility runs, and material choices. Long Beach has specific coastal zone requirements, and some neighborhoods have historic district overlays. We handle all of that. Every project gets a written price before work starts – the number you approve is the number you pay. No change orders mid-project unless you decide to expand scope. Your Blanco fixtures and parts are line-itemed in the estimate. And every job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right, we make it right, in writing, for a full year.

DIY or Call Us?

Some things you can safely check yourself, like confirming your Blanco model number so we know what we’re working with. But here’s where the DIY route goes wrong: people order the wrong parts, or skip the structural reinforcement silgranit sinks need, or cut a countertop to the wrong template. A Blanco undermount sink that’s installed wrong leaks into the cabinet, and then you’re replacing a cabinet instead of just a seal. That’s a bigger bill. Framing an addition or ADU involves load-bearing considerations and city inspections. Our crew is led by Luca Romano, and the framing and finish carpentry work comes from years of hands-on experience across Long Beach, from Belmont Shore bungalows to projects a few blocks from the Queen Mary. We make sure the Blanco fixtures in your new space are installed to spec with the right template, the right support, and the right seal.

If you’re not sure what you’re dealing with, call us at (562) 512-6480. We’ll talk it through before anyone shows up.
