Cambridge Pavers Kitchen Remodeling: The Long Beach Owner’s Guide
We install full kitchens built around Cambridge Pavers products throughout Long Beach, and the typical project runs $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet run, countertop material, and whether we’re moving plumbing or gas lines. Most kitchens take 3 to 6 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. What brings a lot of Long Beach homeowners to us isn’t a vague “we want new cabinets” call. It’s something specific that stopped working: a drawer front that split at the seam, a cabinet box that swelled from a slow sink leak, or a countertop edge that chipped and now catches every sponge. Cambridge Pavers makes a solid product, but nothing in a kitchen survives forever, especially within a mile of the ocean air.
Which Cambridge Pavers Models This Applies To

Cambridge Pavers isn’t a cabinet manufacturer. They’re known for paving stones and hardscape products. When Long Beach homeowners say “Cambridge Pavers kitchen,” they usually mean one of two things: a kitchen remodel that incorporated Cambridge Pavers products as a design element (a paver backsplash, a paver-accented island base, or a paver-topped outdoor kitchen that ties into the indoor space), or a kitchen where Cambridge Pavers materials were used in an adjacent outdoor area and the interior remodel needs to match or flow from it. We handle both.
If you have actual Cambridge Pavers stones in or around your kitchen, the compatibility question is about the paver line itself. Cambridge makes products in multiple series: Ledgestone, RoundTable, Pavingstone, and WallStone, to name a few. Each series has different thicknesses, usually 1.5 to 3.125 inches, and different joint spacing requirements. An interior application changes the install rules significantly versus a driveway or patio. You can identify the specific paver by checking the underside or end for a stamped code, or by measuring the thickness and the face dimensions. If the stamp is worn off, we can usually match it by sight and texture. For the cabinet, counter, and fixture side of the project, we’re working with KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria or Silestone surfaces, and Kohler or Moen fixtures. Sawyer Remodel Long Beach is an independent contractor and not affiliated with Cambridge Pavers.

Signs Your Cambridge Pavers Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Paver accent pieces shifting or loosening. Interior pavers installed as a backsplash or island wrap expand and contract differently than exterior pavers. If the mortar bed wasn’t prepped for interior humidity swings, you’ll see hairline cracks at the grout joints first, then movement. That’s a re-set job, not a patch job.
- Efflorescence on paver surfaces. That white, chalky film is salt and mineral migration through the paver body. In Long Beach, the marine layer adds moisture that exterior pavers in dry climates never see. It’s not structural failure, but it means water is moving through the stone, and the sealer has failed.
- Cabinet doors that won’t stay aligned. If the cabinet boxes were installed on a floor that’s settled or out of level, the doors drift over time. You’ll notice the gap between two doors is wider at the top than the bottom. Tightening hinges won’t fix a bananaed box.
- Soft spots or swelling at cabinet bases. This one’s almost always water. A pinhole leak in a sink supply line, an ice maker line that drips slow, or water wicking up from a concrete slab. The box swells, the kick plate delaminates, and then the countertop starts to feel spongy at the edge.
- Grout cracking around the sink or cooktop. The heaviest use areas fail first. If grout lines near the sink are cracking in a spider pattern, the substrate underneath is flexing. That’s a sign the original install skipped a movement joint or the backer board wasn’t screwed to spec.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Cambridge Pavers kitchen remodel in Long Beach runs $14,000 to $45,000. On the lower end, you’re looking at a smaller footprint: refacing existing cabinet boxes, a standard quartz or granite countertop, a basic tile backsplash, and keeping the sink and appliances where they already are. The upper end includes new KraftMaid or cabinet-grade boxes, Cambria or Silestone slab, a relocated sink or range (which means gas and plumbing changes), an island, and new lighting and fixtures. Paver accent work adds $3,500 to $11,000 depending on square footage and whether it’s vertical (backsplash or island wrap) or horizontal (floor inlay).
Every quote is written, itemized, and approved before a single tool is picked up. The price on the invoice is the price you approved. No change orders unless you ask for something different mid-project, and even then we put it in writing first. The work carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something wasn’t done right, we come back and make it right within a year, no argument. And yes, we pull permits when the scope requires them.
DIY or Call Us?
You can clean efflorescence off a paver surface with a paver-safe cleaner and a stiff brush. You can re-caulk a sink seam. You can tighten a cabinet hinge. Those are homeowner tasks. What you should not do yourself is remove or reset interior pavers, deal with a cabinet box that’s water-damaged, move a gas line, or pull a countertop. A granite or quartz slab weighs hundreds of pounds. A gas line done wrong is a leak in your house. And a paver set wrong in a vertical application can fall. Luca Romano grew up in Los Angeles and has spent nearly two decades running remodel jobs across Long Beach, from gut renovations near Belmont Shore to kitchen overhauls a few blocks from the Queen Mary. The work tells you everything. The rest is just talking.

FAQs

Cabinet boxes from KraftMaid typically carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner, and Cambria countertops run 10 to 20 years before wear shows. In Long Beach’s coastal climate, the weak point is usually the grout and sealer on paver accents, which may need re-sealing every 2 to 4 years. A properly installed kitchen should give you 15 to 25 years of daily use before a major refresh. Call (562) 512-6480 if you want us to assess what’s worth keeping versus replacing.
Yes, in many cases. Cabinet boxes with localized water damage can sometimes be scabbed and reinforced. Loose pavers can be re-set. Cracked grout can be ground out and re-done. We’ll always tell you if a repair will actually hold or if you’re throwing money at a problem that needs a full replacement. Estimates are free, so call (562) 512-6480 and we’ll tell you straight.
A small repair like resetting pavers or replacing a section of grout is usually a one-day job. A full kitchen remodel runs 3 to 6 weeks, and paver accent work adds a few days. You’ll get a written schedule with your quote so you know exactly when we’ll be in your home and when we won’t.
We stock common grout colors, sealers, thinset, and trim profiles on the truck, but Cambridge Pavers stones are ordered per project because the series and color need to match your existing materials exactly. We source directly from Cambridge and other paver suppliers, and the lead time is usually 3 to 7 business days in Long Beach. Call (562) 512-6480 with your paver series and we’ll confirm availability and price before you commit to anything.
